JMEC WIRED event “Gamification: Make everyday fun!”

The JMEC Alumni Association is pleased to invite you to its next social event, JMEC WIRED Night #17— featuring an interactive presentation/workshop entitled “Gamification: Make everyday fun” from Dr. Ryohei Ikejiri of the University of Tokyo.

What is Gamification? Gamification is not a new concept, it’s a methodology that started gaining momentum in 2010 and has since been increasing in popularity. It applies game-like elements to add “fun” to various activities and fields.

Dr. Ryohei Ikejiri from the University of Tokyo will share his insights and experience using Gamification to show us how to learn more effectively using “fun”, and also describe how we can apply the method to our business for both co-workers and customers.

He is an assistant professor at the University of Tokyo, with research interests including educational technology, historical learning and game-based learning. His current research focuses on design theory through the development and assessment of game-based educational materials that not only motivate people to learn, but also help people to improve their ability to think logically.

Dr. Ikejiri has co-authored four books on Gamification in education, and he is currently developing an app for high school students to make history more relevant.

Come along to this JMECAA WIRED event to network with other young professionals in Tokyo and learn about the concept of gamification!
